Of interest to no one but me....

In a desperate attempt to get my reading list under control, I've attempted to clean out some duplicate feeds. I've kept:
   patwrede_blog_feed
   pcwrede_comments_feed
which seem to be the fastest blog and comments feed, respectively.
I've dropped:
   pat_wrede_pcw_wp_feed (https://pat-wrede-pcw-wp-feed.dreamwidth.org/, source = https://pcwrede.com/pcw-wp)
   pat_wrede_pcw_wpcmt_feed (https://pat-wrede-pcw-wpcmt-feed.dreamwidth.org/, source = https://pcwrede.com/pcw-wp)
   pcwrede_feed (https://pcwrede-feed.dreamwidth.org/, source = http://pcwrede.com/)
Given that the sources aren't the actual RSS links (and that that last one was inactive as a feed), I don't know if I can get them back should the ones I'm keeping fail. But I'd rather risk having to dig up new links than keep shoveling through all the duplicates.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled dial tone....

AKICOLJ/DW: Recommendations for Author Website?

So, the time has come when I really should put together an author website.

1) Suggestions for web hosting? I don't need anything fancy; static pages and a contact form, maaaaaybe a blog and/or the ability to selectively link in parts of this journal. I do want the ability to get in and control the structure myself; WordPress, for example, is handy for quickie set-up, but I find it rather limiting when I'm used to being able to manipulate files directly.

2) At the rate it's going, getting a proper website set up is going to take a while. In the meantime (however long that meantime proves to be), would it be tacky by Dreamwidth standards to put a sticky at the top of this journal listing my published stories? I figure that's the part of an author website people are most looking for, and this is my biggest web presence.

The program book is at the printers, the cookies are in progress, and my living room is full of con supplies. It's looking like this thing is really happening!

Tag, You're Not It

One of the challenges of database design is not just accommodating current needs, but anticipating future ones. I'm good at doing this most of the time, but most =/= all.

Tags are a database. And there are some things I'm still talking about that were tagged a certain way for reasons that no longer apply, or that I no longer want to think about in that way.

If you reached this post by following the HoM tag for Highway of Mirrors, you'll want to continue with the niay tag.

I'm doing some tidying around here and trimming the f-lists. If I've de-listed you, it's because we've drifted into different interests and just don't have much to say to each other any more, or because the drama level is too high, or simply because I'm reading you on another service and don't need the duplication.
