I do not think you need a rationalization for this one. It's The Sandbaggers. Which is brilliant, and in a properly-ordered cosmos would be better known than it is. And providing a market for it is at least some small encouragement to the universe to flow in the correct direction.

You'll get to the queries, not to worry. Neil Burnside would be so disappointed in you if you didn't. And would consider it to be your own fault if you put off ordering these disks until you'd finished the queries and then found that they were all gone.
