That whooshing noise....

Missed another querying seven-day deadline yesterday. I swear to ghu, my computer told me that yesterday was the 6th, though it's now quite clear that today's the 8th. Whichever, not a brilliant start, missing the first deadline of the year.

I really need an accountability buddy, someone who could be relied on to nag, nudge, or remind me when I need it. Though the seven-day thing does at least keep me aware of the passage of time, so I don't get to the end of the month and say, what do you mean I have to send four queries in the next thirty minutes?!? That's not great, not without the queries actually getting done, but it's better than nothing.

(Mind you, it'd also help if I hadn't spent practically the whole week in the driveway, shovel in my frost-encrusted hands. My next house will not have a shadowed, west-facing driveway with twenty acres of open field across the street.)

Piled higher and deeper

I just checked -- there was 28 inches of snow drifted up against the back door, and over 20 inches on the back deck. I'd been debating leaving it all for insulation purposes, but the youngest cat didn't understand why I wouldn't open the back door so he could at least see what the outside was like, and maybe go play in the garage. (Answer: because there was 28 inches of snow on it! But try explaining that to a cat.)
