Sometimes, you just don't have room for a yogurt joke.
Thursday, July 7th, 2011 12:14 amYogurtWatch is updated, albeit with a lack of yogurt in last week's episode. Why yes, I was waiting on the repeat showing; there was a technical problem with last week's recording.
Oof. That was intense. I love what Jeffrey Donovan and Sharon Gless can do with eyes and shifts of posture, a few short lines and the weight of accumulated backstory. And Bruce Campbell added a phenomenal amount to those scenes with nothing but standing in the background with an expression.
And I never thought somebody lighting a cigarette for someone else could be that touching a moment.
Damn, these people are good.
Also, I'm impressed by the direction the series as a whole seems to be taking. It's looking like they're going to be playing Michael's revitalized CIA career against his new-found reputation as the go-to guy for people who need help, and we get to watch Michael wrestle with that on both the professional and the personal level. I didn't expect them to get to this point for at least another season, but this show keeps surprising me.
And speaking of surprises -- that ending! Did I just hear Michael Westen make an emotional commitment?!? My jaw just about fell off.
