Keep it up, guys....
Wednesday, December 21st, 2011 04:07 pmI love how every time LiveJournal does something thick, Dreamwidth gets more traffic.
All other issues aside, that new comment page really is ugly, isn't it?

Re: Off Latest Things page
Date: 2011-Dec-22, Thursday 05:44 pm (UTC)As for LJ shooting themselves in the foot (feet! I think they're a millipede!), I don't think they're in too much trouble as long as people decide to just crosspost to LJ from DW or whichever other site. You gotta delete your LJ to make a difference. Deleting it takes away the ads, reducing the pageviews for those ads, reducing the income LJ derives from those ads. If people start deleting their journals by the thousands per day, LJ will start to listen. But people are just making backup journals elsewhere, and keeping their LJs. Ergo, people complain and LJ just shrugs.

(PS– I just remembered: I gave you a 'medal' once for giving me a handy link on a meta post. Thanks again!)
Re: Off Latest Things page
Date: 2011-Dec-22, Thursday 07:44 pm (UTC)I suspect you're right. Not that I can point fingers; I cross-post everything myself, because a large proportion of the people I come on-line to talk to are still LJ-only. But every time LJ does something stupid, a few more jump ship. Once the critical mass shifts....
(You're welcome, again!)
